Cultural Burning: Kurtonitj

The Gunditjmara Traditional Owners conducted a cultural burn on the Kurtonitj IPA within the Budj Bim National Park in May 2020.
The burn was an annual autumn practice of the Traditional Owners and the planned activity was a collaborative one between the Gunditjmara people, DELWP Forest Fire Management, Glenelg Hopkins CMA and the CFA and helped pass on the skills between generations and helped bring together a number of organisations to deliver positive cultural and environmental outcomes.
