One big reason so many other wood turners don't make it on Social Media is they don't have any showmanship. You do. You make wood turning exciting to watch.

You’ve changed how I rough out bowls forever! Thanks for that

I love the way this bowl turned out - it is beautiful.  You have helped me to be a better turner.  Thank You.

Great series. I learned so much and not just generally speaking, you helped me notice the details also. I really do enjoy the way you teach, instruct and guide as you go. Thank you. I am looking forward to seeing more. I am definitely saving this series to refer back to as I turn my own creations. The instructions apply to so much more than this single project.

Incredibly informational/educational explanations of how you're turning and why you're doing it!

Tip; have a lot of experience with such burls, when they've been sitting around for years like this one it's like trying to turn a brick so I put them in a plastic bag and soak them in mineral oil for several days or even weeks which soften the fibers making them much easier on the tools not to mention the turner.

I notice you have a small stop collar on the shank of your tool just above your quick release (love your quick release collars!). What is the purpose of that?

I've seen Part 5...looking forward to seeing how you got there.

Jimmy I love your work and have been a fan since seeing one of your DVDs.
My only criticism would be on the camera work which was rather jittery... but then again, we get what we pay for.
Cheers

Mr. Clewes, I noticed you have multiple lathes, do you have a favorite or a preferred lathe? I am planning on getting a Laguna Revo 24/36 which is what I think you are using in this video.

First thank you for the great vids. I watch over and over trying to learn as I am a rookie with a capitol R. I notice in this vid the tip of your tool is a purplish color...due to the heat?? Would it do any good to dip your tools in water while working to cool it and possibly help protect the edge and maybe even harden it a bit?

Jimmy. On a piece of wood like this, would it make sense to RE-saw the burl off the top so it’s turning flat?

Jimmy, what are your thoughts on the VB36 and Vicmarc VL300?

Impressive stuff Jimmy, I’d have changed my underwear about three times doing that!,
