Listen to the Loudest Bird on Earth Scream at Potential Mates

Brazilian and U.S. scientists discovered the Brazilian white bellbird’s "extremely loud" mating call peaks at about 125.4 decibels, which is louder than a rock concert and chainsaw.

The name of the bird here in Brasil is Araponga. I spotted one while doing a trek in Chapada Diamantina. It's incredibly loud the sound it makes.

What I find interesting is the potential reason for why it is so loud might be because of excessive fog and geographic reasons that make normal singing difficult. Essentially, most birds in the amazon go for bright visual colors that are easy to spot due to the sound dampening effects of the jungle which cancel out a lot of calls, but the White Bellbird went in the opposite direction, so it put all of its stats into audio production instead of visual production.
