to this day kouros is the greatest fragrance I have ever smelled, absolutely intoxicating this is pure masculine perfume not just a fragrance ....i have stuff I wear more just because its easier but nothing hits me like that smell of kourous, they literally caught lightning in a bottle and it can never be topped, those days have gone

I'm 62 years old, and I played for the 70's soul singing group, "The Chi-Lites in the 80's, ..and we were playing in Europe in 1988, ..saw this in the Duty Free airport shop, ..and was amazed, ..my all time favorite, ..so good I could almost drink it....the only fragrance that comes close is Versace Versus Uomo 1991, ..sadly it's discontinued when Gianni died...but I'm a fan of your vids, ...vintage for life !!!

My Dad’s favorite perfume..He was smelled absolutely marvelous when he used this..I am keeping one for my self to remember him...Before dad passed away i have brought him one and he was very happy...Nice memories

Thank you for the review! Yesterday I smelled it for the first time in a perfumes shop. I was mesmerized. I immediately felt nostalgic. Even melancholic. It felt so warm, like a blanket in a cold. It`s so deep, yet so fresh, and so clean. It felt like the best barbershop fragrance and the best manly scent that exists. I have no idea why anyone would not like it. I felt an immediate need to buy it.

Kouros has a special place in my family, my mom actually bought it in duty free in 83 for my father before they got married because it smelt amazing to her, and my father thought so too. Its the rare fragrance which oscillates between alpha male sexuality and spirituality. Other fragrances add to your existing personality, Kouros it gives you a new personality and confidence.

I acquired a vintage full bottle of Kouros from a tiny perfume shop that had closed a few years back and this version was from the "Parfums Corp" era (between 1986-1992) which is etched at the metal silver bottom piece of the bottle. Now I haven't tried the current version of this but this vintage is a beast to say the least. I'm not too sure if men would be willing to wear this or even appreciate it today. The animalic note in this is very potent but what I love about this is the drydown where the fresh floral/herbal notes starts taking over. This easily exceeds eight hrs on my skin with a barbershop fresh musk sort of smell, though the animalic scent is still very noticeable. This is far from today's bubblegum sweet vanilla type of scent men go for these days. Vintage Kouros is in the same league as vintage classics, Yatagan and Balenciaga Pour Homme.

Kouros is not discontinued...check the Basenotes thread. Also in my country India, it’s very readily available and sells fairly well. Also available in lots and lots quantities in Dubai, GCC area, that’s where all the grey stuff comes in from.

I guess it’s a temporary removal or maybe permanent removal from US official website.

Wow, this brings back good memories! I remember as a kid watching my dad using Kouros and Lapidus pour homme. I can still remember the smell, its probably the first fragrance I ever smelled in my life. Great review brother, I agree 100% with you, there’s nothing like this nowadays. I’m gonna head over to google to see if I can find me a vintage bottle or a new one before they’re gone

Kouros is not discontinued, it just isn't available in certain countries anymore. It's still in production and widely available in Europe and the UK. Ysl have withdrawn it from the USA it seems.

As of 2023 Kouros is still widely available, both online and in almost every perfume retail store. Not dicontinued 🙂

Some fragrances smell the same close up as they do in the scent bubble.
To me this smell a lot better on skin and at a distance.
Classic, aromatic, fresh and masculine.

Great video and I agree wholeheartedly that Kouros is the GOAT! I'm currently on a quest to collect all the flankers (now have Tattoo Collector, Silver, and Body). Next will be Fraicheur and I'll always be interested in picking up a Vintage bottle of the original for the right price. Keep up the great work!

I bought yesterday the latest version, produced in feb 2022...it is lighter, but still Kouros, it is a more modern version....This should be in the wardrobe of every perfume lover.
