Okay here’s the thing tho. They kidnapped him, they kidnapped and BRAINWASHED his granddaughter, and repeatedly steal the zap fish. The fact that he so willingly takes Agent 8 under his wing and tries to accept Marina shows a huge change of character for him and I think that’s pretty neat

The racism is only in the English localisation, in JP he doesn’t even bring it up from what i remember, in Octo Expansion, nintendo america rlly said to add in the ‘i dont see species’

The racicim is actually mostly because of the American localization. For whatever reason, the america team decided to give him racist lines. His racisim isn’t as prominent in jp or other localizations

I think with him remaking his friendship with Octavio at the end of return of the mammalians, if we ever see cuttlefish again he will be more in touch
