It has been a while since my first reviews of NFT marketplaces, so I wanted to check in with you about new platforms in the space that are on my radar. I am not on any of these yet so I have no vested interest, just my take and initial impressions.

I think these are worth introducing you to because not only are there many new platforms on the Ethereum blockchain, but these ones are new NFT minting platforms on different whole blockchains. That means the general idea of minting NFTs remains the same but the process of executions will be different which I won't exactly get into here but for example you will need different crypto wallets for each different blockchain.

Each of the following blockchains have energy usage a lot lower than on PoW blockchains like Ethereum. So the cost of minting an NFT on Tezos, Flow and Binance Smart Chain has been compared to sending a Tweet on Twitter. Potentially vastly different energy consumption.

This combined with less userbase then Ethereum means gas fees are ultra low, like sometimes measured in cents rather than hundreds of dollars.

The first blockchain we'll look at is Tezos and the first platform is

hic et nunc
it's latin for here and now
hic et nunce - i think I'll keep calling it hic et nunc

It's an Open marketplace (like Rarible or Open Sea)
Quickly mint an NFT, share it, sell it. At first viewing it's almost like an anti platform, non featured user interface, no search, tabs, follows, some tags, pretty punk in it's ethos, maybe too obscure but often that kind of platform can be nice to play around with and a good entry place of discovery and learning.

also on Tezos is another platform called

Kalamint.
Curated marketplace for selected artists
(Like SuperRare or MakersPlace) As you can see, you can Buy Now, have different edition numbers etc

The next platform is on Flow. Dapper Labs is responsible for Flow and they are also known for Crypto Kitties and NBA Top Shots which have done super well. Their first NFT marketplace is called

Vive
Free to mint. Smart contract deployment, blockchain minting and transaction fees are all covered. Creators earn 87.5% from direct sales of their works. Additionally, they can earn up to 10% from the resale of these same assets when they get traded peer-to-peer on VIV3 marketplace.

Ben Mauro is ultra respected concept artists for film and he created a collectible card series that sold super well with smart trading card drop mechanics and obvioulsy amazing character design.

Another platform soon to be released on Flow is

Versus
I am one of the launch artists on this platform which will include auctions and limited editions with a twist. they should be launching early May I think.

And finally On the Binance Smart Chain is

BakerySwap
It started as an AMM (Automated Market Maker) Protocol with swap and yield farming features. So you can swap coins or stake them for returns. You can see at first glance at how a little bit a curation can go a long way for quality, but allowing openess can get a new platform up an running pretty quickly. You can even use the same Metamask Browser extension you may have used for Ethereum but under Custom RPC setup.

That's it, If you're new but early to a platform it can really help to establish yourself in a blue ocean of potential rather than compete in the red ocean full of sharks.

I'll have the links in description. But if you try any of these platforms I'd love to get you response on how you found them to use.

Catch ya next time.

Thanks Rhett. Another very calm and sensible overview of an otherwise chaotic and noisy space.

Thank you for sharing all this info, very useful!
I have a doubt: do NFTs travel through blockchains or can artists mint the same NFT art in different blockchains?

Thanks!

Most NFT are tanking. It was a giant massive hype. Now people are selling random Ai generated Gifs that look fancy for a few random alt coins daily, and that's all you see until a celebrity sells one. Now gronk is selling a cannabisNFT, and it allows the user 1 smoke session with him in the area of Boston heh. It is just a picture of a nug of herbs. So basically, these are just digital super bowl tickets to access a person for 10 minutes now? Seems sketchy

Aeneas Blockchain (ASH) has the lowest commission on NFT production and combustion. It is as low as 0.001 ASH.

Nice to learn about a few alternatives. I've been looking into cheaper options. Unless you're confident in selling your work for enough to cover all etherium gas fees and then some, it's a celebrities/known artists game.
