Math 202 Lecture 23 - Introduction to Polar Coordinates

In this short lecture (happening right after a test) we briefly introduce the polar coordinate system. We describe how this new coordinate system works, state its governing equations and even sketch some basic curves. We will do more sketching and also do calculus with polar curves in our next lecture.

Professor Smith, thank you for a great Introduction to Polar Coordinates in Calculus. This is an important topic for all students to learn in Science and Engineering. I also encountered this topic in Engineering Physics, Statics, Dynamics and Electromagnetic Theory. Double and Triple Integration is so much simpler to perform and understand using Polar Coordinates. Professor Smith, there are no problems with the Camera. The Camera is placed in an excellent location.
