I love the Phonak Audeo Lumity RT purchased in March of 2023, from Scot Frink, AuD of your Hearing Up Network. While i do not have the highest level technology, i have the features that i need. Love the Bluetooth features and my telecoils. The higher level features were features i could work around or wasn’t a feature i thought i would use. Now, if Phonak could work on getting a better charger that holds extra charges and work on the color. When i researched different brands and models, one possible choice was only on my list because it had nice jewel tone color choices.

I have PHONAK 90 I purchased them new two years ago back is the worst Hearing Aids I ever had. They’ve been back to the factory six times and it’s the same old same old crap. I have tried to get them replaced when a new set and no luck. I talked to the factory. They did help me out get some of the problems that I had with the Hearing Aids.

For 2024, which would you recommend for a person who has extreme hearing loss and does not go near water. His 4 year old Signia hearing aid does almost nothing for him and I was thinking some kind of remote microphone (either using his cell phone's mic or a separate external microphone) would help him. The volume is not the issue but clarity.

Hi Rachael - I have had my new Phonak Audeos for around a year now and to be honest I'm very disappointed. Firstly, the hearing quality is actually good. However, the so called automatic programming is crazy and all over the place. When I'm in various noisy environments I can sense the programs constantly changing from one to another, with no particular benefit to me. In fact it drives me nuts with this constant changing, so I just put them back into the basic program mode and leave it at that. This means I have paid a lot of money for various specific programs that I don't use, because the hearing aid does not seem to be able to work out where I am and what I need foreach environment. When I buy my next pair it will be with the most basic program options I think - unless you have very specific needs, this is what I would recommend to others. Thanks for the video.

Wait for new revolution in Demant. In very few days. Oticon, Philips, Bernafon, Sonic, Maico… will radically make a big change.

i wish starkey would offer customers an analog option to go with ITC aids that can have wheel volume controls and use replaceable batteries...

I am in the process of being fitted with the Phonak aids that are FIRST on this list. I am at least fortunate to be getting them through the VA here in Phoenix, and was told by my Audiologist at the VA that they only use the 90 level aids, with 4 other provider vendors. They will also connect me with Bluetooth at my fitting appt. Also told it might help with my Tinnitus. While in SE Asia in the AF in 1970, I spent some time on the flightline so some issues with that and some hearing loss. Also glad for the "not long ago" new VA program called the VA community Care program. So if I cannot get a reasonable time set for an appt, especially on urgent care, the VA can refer me to an outside Vendor like Honor Health Urgent Care, or for an MRI, instead of a long wait with the VA. By the way, THAT program was initiated by President TRUMP !!! Who also LOVES Veterans, active military, the cops, first responders, etc. And AGAINST Defunding the Police by the LEFT.

What is always in play and seldom addressed is the MIDDLE MAN and that is why cost is attached to ZIP CODES! Alot of these manufacturers have one plant so the cost is somewhat fixed and thus the avenue for the middle man is created!?!?!?

What is the best brand for working on Android? I just got the Starkey AI's and their connectivity is garbage with my Android phone. I can't do the basic things consitantly that a $20 pair of earbuds off of the TikTok shop will do. Thanks!

Hi Dr Cook- I had an audiology appointment last week and have a funny question for you, one that the audiologist kind of dismissed. He did a test fitting with a pair of Phonak Lumity RIC's, which was interesting, but I have long hair (and wear glasses) and could hear my hair rustling, despite his adjustments. MIght an in-canal style be better suited?

You're excited voice about the Starkey app makes me doubtful about everything in this video. My trial is coming near an end and I'm definitely returning the vice because the app is so terrible. Let's see what things are not on the same page. Left and right adjustment. Reaming volume. Overall volume. Base trouble volume. And more. I'm often wanting to listen to somebody and I look like I'm playing with my phone app because I can just go screen after screen and cannot figure out how to adjust the sound. I'm a software developer for 40 years. There is no reason not to put all the controls on one page. Some may not apply and could be disabled but needing to hunt all over for sound settings is terrible. Another thing. Some of the settings cancel other settings which you don't see because they're not on the same page. So if you balance your left and right your spouse is on your left. Then you adjust volume. It knocks out the left right balance. This is a simple design where you slide both up and down not cancel settings. Conclusion. Has terrible software and be careful about doing a review where everything is wonderful.

Hey, why is Dr. Cook shushing us in the thumbnail? If she’s trying to get a bunch of HOH people to lower their voices and settle down the correct way to do that is to flick the room lights off and on!
