is this only a windows 11 feature or also in windows 10? Only option I could find in windows 10 was to select with lasso and click "ink to text" which is not the automatic text pen.

There are gestures of selection (straight line through what you want to select, similar to how you would do with mouse), deletion (which is a scratch out), new line (which is a down and to the left line, similar to the return symbol on a keyboard), split (vertical line top-down) and join (vertical line in bottom-up/top-down)

Hello David, I wonder if the text pen tool is available also on laptop/desktop version of Onenote (I have DELL Windows11 laptop without touch screen but with Wacom pen tablet attached, Insider option activated and I do not see it.) or does it only show up on Surface tablets?

I have a problem with this tool, when I write something, the typed text doesn't neatly go into the same line as it did for you in this video, it instead goes several lines above and to the left of where I actually wrote the text. How do you change it so that the text shows up on the same line?

Appreciate the tips. I saw that it was available, but couldn't get newline to work and couldn't figure out deletes for anything. I'll give this another try w/ my Surface Pro/Win11 setup. I was using the on screen keyboard but for some reason, it refuses to auto-show for OneNote. It does for every other app if I start using text. But I'll give some of these pen gestures a try to see what happens.

So I have a samsung tablet S7, and the app does not have this feature, nor there is any "Ink to Text" button that searches online tell me to use to convert handwriting to text... does anyone know what am I doing wrong? :(

Can i quick switch color with my pen ? i wanna switch between Black and Red when i do math rather then have to change color manually all the time in the menu.

How can I remove this feature, I use one note in full screen mode, This "Text Pen" takes up space in the toolbar, and there is no option to remove it

In whatversion of OneNote for windows 10 is this and how do I activate this new pen? I cant find it when I tab on the [+] button to add new pens. I only see pencil, pen and marker.

I don't have this option on my OneNote. Does anybody know why? I am on Windows 11 Pro and have an Office 365 subscription, which has been updated with the most recent updates. There must be a setting somewhere.

This "feature" is laughably bad. Just like in the video: text all over the place, words not recognized etc etc. Virtually useless.
