For me, the spiritual successor to the F1 is the GMA T.50

I thought it was hilarious that McL bragged about F1 tech in their engine when they don't even make F1 engines

3:58 Bargeboard (separa el aire turbulento de las ruedas del difusor)
4:22 evacuación de los radiadores delanteros al rededor del parabrisas (como en el mclaren P1) y no de frente al mismo

I don't think that the bar at the back is an anti-roll bar. It's a Z-bar - so it makes the wheels go in opposite directions unlike an anti-roll bar. I think that anti-roll is still being accomplished by their interconnected damper system. What the Z-bar seems to do is act as a connecting element in heave, in connection with the active drop links.

Or maybe I am wrong. I am still quite unsure how the W1 suspension system works in detail. They also mentioned torsion bars at the front - which you can sort of see - but just from looking at it, it's not clear to me how they only engage at certain wheel travel positions (there are conventional springs also, so I assume those torsion bars are free-rolling until a certain point).

The problem with the downforce comparison screen (beyond the fact that manufacturers are not to be trusted) isn't that it's recalculated to the same speed, which comments tend to misunderstand, but that some of the values are wrong. Bolide number is outdated and was revised for the production version. Same thing with Valkyrie number (plus, their peak is reached at 220 km/h). And AMG One probably shouldn't have less downforce than AMG GT Black Series.

Front looks 1:1 like Progen t20 … what was the gta version of the p1. Lots of cars today somehow look like gta cars 🤷🏽‍♂️

While I am not a fan of the design of the McLaren or the Ferrari generally, the engineering design under the McLaren is far more in line with what a Hypercar should be. I just find it funny that none of these companies seem to notice what Gordon Murray is doing and how well received his simple, lightweight supercars are going to age.

Great video. My favorite detail is the track mode rear wing outside of the body. Wonder if that will be future to make cars road legal but have a more advanced track mode.

I like that Mclaren went for low weight with small battery and didn't use any front engines as I'm curious how it will perform against other hybrid cars in practice. Mclaren Applied supplies the ECU for the IndyCars that got the MGU mounted inside the bell-housing connected to the drive shaft.

You can have good aerodynamics while also having a good design, the valkyrie is great example ! Ferrari and Mclaren just lost the plot on their recent cars

Looks like too much inspiration from Lego.

Crazy expensive, I expect the depreciation will be over 50% in two years. I liked the looks of the earlier ones, but I will have to see a live one before I can be sure. Thanks, interesting video and a good comparison to the Ferrari.

I think they're both disappointing compared to their predecessors but the McLaren looks cooler and is cooler.

I think it's great that there's cars that can lap Tsukuba in under 55 seconds.

@3.55 'the floor pocket' is this to allow air under the car? or is this more to do with evacuating air from the wheel well?

03:21 Doesnt also W1 produces aeound 1000 kilograms of downforce as they mentioned? Also how can be Amg One that low which is a car that all designed for downforce and track???
