I’ve ran a set like this on my 12 valve for 3 years and it has 500, 000 miles on it with stock head gasket. They are a great option for a budget!!!

Used to run same 12.9 bolts as a budget solution for the turbo BMW guys on the old M20 6cyls. We used the factory head bolt washers which where virtually identical to the washer you provide. And yes, chamfer always goes against radius on the underside of bolt head, basic mechanics 101. Also besides the size issue of standard washers is you need a hardened washer to hold the torque load. A standard washer will crush and continue to due so through heating and cooling cycling leading to loss of torque and subsequent failure of head gasket.
I especially appreciate all the research and testing that went into this product, even selecting the correct socket tool to go with the bolts. Excellent work 👍🏼

We have been running this style since 2014 on a lot of our customers trucks. From a good friends 600 whp vp truck to our 13mm p7100 work stock pull rig. No issues.

I loved the honesty, about the coatings, as well as the washers and that those will be updated in future. PDD is always top on my list for cummins parts when I have someone asking

My 1996 12 valve head gasket leaks a little coolant externally at the front passenger corner. In 50 miles I lose about 2 cups of coolant. Do you think swapping out the stock head-bolts with these and torquing them down properly is worth trying before just yanking the head and replacing the gasket. The engine is stock. Never has been opened up. Has 275k miles on it. Runs perfect. Does not consume a drop of oil. Does not leak oil.

How did you run your torque test? Did you measure bolt stretch? 125 ft. Lbs is nothing. A standard impact Allen socket will work just fine for install. Get a set from Harbor Freight. I used them for sawmill maintenance for years. Never broke one using an Ingersoll Rand 1/2” and 3/4” impact gun. I might look into installing a set of these. 2001 with 99500 miles. 67mm c/w & t/w turbo with .010 X 7 injectors and Quadzilla adrenaline V2 tuner.

Whats a ballpark on max psi these bolts can handle? I know that drive pressure is what lifts heads, but humor me.

I know this is an older video, but do they come in an M12 x 1.75 x210mm?

I'm building a Deutz, and will need a head bolt upgrade. It would be nice to have the coating for corrosion as i live in an area where salty roads are an issue.

Curious what kind of coating you guys decided on!? You mention trying multiple options, what was the consensus!!?

Well I can’t prove that the bolts failed but I put a set of these in my 12v and 3000 km later I’ve got coolant running down the side of my block. Pulling the head off and going with ARP studs. Thought I was well within the limits they’re talking about with a single 62mm turbo and 5x12 injectors, the usual mild work on my 215 ppump🤷🏻‍♂️ had the head resurfaced and thoroughly checked out before putting it all together so I don’t know what went wrong.

I don't know if thay looked in to it i instead cap bolts on my truck and I messed the old head bolts and the hole in the block and using a bottom tap was able to buy bolts that were 15mm longer than the factory head bolts to get into unused threads in the block.

I quit buying chrome socket any things anymore because the impact versions are way stronger and can be used the same ways <3
