Ben sounds like, and has a whole history of mess and irresponsibility. He sounds like he will exhaust you mentally, emotionally and physically. All this immaturity wrapped up in one man? And there is help if he wants it? He has the money to pay for his healing!
With this Jen does seem to crave the spotlight. She is feeling lonely and wants attention.

About 20 years ago I too had a boyfriend who was addicted which at the time when I met him I had no idea. Then I learn the truth and I did my best to help him and understand his addiction. He was always putting me down, I was losing my hair from the stress and when I gain 10 pound he call me names. Then one day he met some chick at the club and dump me for her. He married her as it turned out they are both miserable, she does not love or respects him wants a divorce which he will not give her, she use his money and brought him into financial ruin, that he lost his house that he bought for her and him. Now he calls me once in a while complaining and to be honest I feel bad for him and I do not gloat, as a friend I still support him and wish him good. The moral of this story is by he meeting this young lady I feel bless that I did not married him. Everything that he accused me of she is the one doing it to him. They both deserve each other.
