Fox and the firefly video

Показать описание
In this video, I’m sharing the full process behind one of my latest illustrations for a personal picture book project — a little Fox Riding Hood chasing a mysterious firefly into the deep, dark woods.
The goal was to create a sense of depth without using traditional perspective, focusing instead on warm vs cool colors and tonal contrast. It turned into quite the emotional rollercoaster — at one point I completely lost direction and didn’t like either version. But I made a promise to myself: finish what I start. And I did. 😊
I’ll take you through my sketching process, how I blocked in values, chose brushes, played with lighting, and adjusted the mood until the illustration finally came together. (Spoiler: the firefly glows blue, and there’s a little silent observer hidden in the trees!)
Whether you’re an aspiring illustrator or just love cozy art process videos, I hope this inspires you to keep creating, even when things don’t go as planned.
Thanks so much for being here! 💕

– Lisa Glanz textured brushes (for that lovely hand-drawn feel)
