Been driving the 1.0 TSI on my Skoda Rapid. Its a gem of an engine. I am sure it'll be great even on the Slavia. Here's a tip, get the automatic and dont go for a manual like I did cause the traffic scenes are only getting worse in cities like Bangalore and Pune. And, am I keen to upgrade to the Slavia from the Rapid. Yes I am but this time, I want a diesel. I hope Skoda is listening.

whatever happened to PD man! the best car content channel not just in India but globally went thanda for the past couple years.. it dished out amazing content when it barely had a couple 100k followers than it is doing now with 2.2 mil (still far less for what it deserves).. by thanda I mean it's almost absent from the auto journalism game and doesn't even show up in search for months on end after being the one to ace every news feed

bmw and merc Audi charge that extra price for brand name ..

It's 13.99 ex-showroom for the 1.0 TSI MT Style with sunroof.

13.70 for the Honda City i-VTEC ZX MT.

For this particular comparison even if the Honda was more expensive I'd still pick the Honda.
(1.5 TSI isn't a fair comparison and the prices aren't out yet anyways. But this is my opinion and preference. I absolutely love the 5th gen Honda City ZX petrol manual)
