I put the Xvive on the end of an xlr cable. Then I can locate the transmitter near the performer.

we've been using the U4 for about 3 years now with no issues that couldn't quickly be resolved. The biggest change we made was changing the channel on our router to broadcast from a higher channel than most don't broadcast from, like channel 11.

The u4 probably didn’t work the first time because the cable you connected to the receiver was trs and the u4 is unbalanced so no stereo and when they send it out they include the converter tip from xlr male to ts 1/4

Our singer has been using the U4 for years and it’s been flawless. I used the Line6 G30 for years. Played a couple hundred gigs in a variety of venues, from small bars to stadium. Never had a problem, but batteries barely lasted an entire gig. Switched to a cheap Lekato UHF set (originally as a backup) about three years ago. I love them; bought a second set and guitarist bought three. Never let us down.

I've been using the u4 for almost 3 years and I could not be happier with it. I'm not gonna lie, the switch problem happened to me, but only once (fortunately it was in a rehearsal, so no biggy). Even though it's mono that's ok for me. While live usage I tend to play for about 4 hours or so (not counting with the soundcheck) and I never ran out of juice (I always bring a wired backup, just in case, thankfully I never had to use it). It's built like a tank, so overall I'm pretty pleased with it, totally recommend it😊

The volume on the u4 was probably too quiet because you used an xlr to jack plug converter effectively chopping one half of your balanced xlr signal resulting in 6 dbu loss (half) on your input.

I’ve had the U4 ears about two years and have never had an issue. The U2 wireless guitar 1/4 inch I wouldn’t recommend in my opinion. I’ve had so many cut outs so I’m going for the shure GLX system.

I've been using the U4 for about 3 years now, i run an XLR cable to where i am, and just plug the transmitter there, been working fine this whole time.

Something to note about the Xvive U2! You should get the strap holder for any active instruments. I had an acoustic with an active pickup, and it created an unpleasant, high pitch noise that was very noticeable any time I wasn’t playing. It is noted in the manual, that this needs to be done. Everyone may not have the same experience, but why take the risk? All things considered it does a great job. I’ve had mine for 7 years now, and it’s a great backup system.

I use the Sennheiser XSW - it’s twice the price but actually works reliably EVERYWHERE! £320, if you need to move about and can’t use a lead/cable then I think it’s hard to beat

I've used the U4 quite a lot, and really like the freedom it gives me. The only thing that disappoints me is that it's mono. I would love a stereo unit. I use Boss WL20 for guitar, but I always carry a cheap alternative equivalent as a plan-B, just in case the Boss doesn't work, and then obviously a plan-C cable. The Boss fails to work maybe 5% of the time for reasons I can't explain, but probably because either someone else in the band is also using one, the Wi-Fi at the venue is interfering with it, or someone flushed a toilet in the next suburb. But these low-cost systems work enough of the time for me to tolerate the times they don't, and I always have some sort of back-up.

See this is one of the things I love about Travis. The good, bad and ugly and not hiding behind excuses. I have a cheap Swiff Audio system but not had to use it in anger yet. I find it has a heavily compressed sound, almost muffled with a very slight delay that just irritates me. Does the Xvibe give a clear unaltered signal?

Great video, but 2, 5ghz is too crowded of a frequency range due to broadband taking the bandwidth for wifi. 5.8ghz and uhf setups are way more stable. I have had the same problem with the u4 power switch. I'm glad to see they have a case that addresses it. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

My bandmate is struggling with interference between his IEM and his wireless system for his violin. Right now the only solution we found is to connect his violin to a wire. He hates that. Any suggestions?

I love mine. Use it all the time for live gigs to use with IEM for singing. Never had any issues.

We use Xvive U4 units every Sunday and the singers really like them, no issues. I think it has to do with the mix going into them.👍🏻

Im a Jbass player. The issue I've had with foldable stands was the body shape always made the bass lean to the left. Did you not have the problem? I know you're a Jazz player as well, so how does it sit in the stand.

The only issue I had with the U4 was a "warbling" that occurred when I was also using my cellphone as a mobile hotspot.

Wow, you were not to far away from where I live. I have been using the Line 6 wireless and have not had any issues with them. Did not have any luck with the Xvive wireless.

@Travisdykes Did you have any issues with the U2 when it came to using an active bass? I see the website description says it not recommended for active basses.
