The way Ashikai's and Roozevelt's crazy theories are end up being true, even if they are mistaken in some part they actually guessed the overall theme that HoYo was cooking.

It actually makes sense.
This alludes to Nibelung fracturing Teyvat into multiple instances when he returned. One instance merged with the Abyss to create the Void realm, another is the original Teyvat suitable for elemental beings, and another instance between the other two created by Celestia, the Teyvat where everyone now lives. The issue is that none of these instances is the original, or real Teyvat where everyone is supposed to exist.
We're all trapped outside of the real space-time, and the only thing preventing the complete fracturing of the realms and the destruction of Teyvat is Phanes' Egg (Tenshi no Tamago).

I have a suspicion that Nibelung realized what he had done after his fight with Phanes and tried to fix things, except even together they lacked the power to fix things, and that's where the Descenders come in, they're supposed to be the ones capable of fixing Teyvat.

I think that what Nicole said to the traveller at the end of Sumeru up to Fontaine ties everything together. Fate is a device in which god controls the world. But a god can't continuously dictate the fate of the world. Instead it writes a finite fate and repeats it indefinitely in the forward flow of time. This repetition forms a cycle and this cycle is called a samsara. Now this fate is reflected upon the world's sky allowing visionaries to read such fate. Nevertheless fate cannot be changed, at the same time fate is also obscure. Every samsara is different so even if fate is fulfilled, what comes after is different. Fate is our only guide and for us not to get lost we should just play our role. What's important is what comes after fate, that is free will. At the end of the story, each character is given a choice. Escape the shackles of the world and venture the countless possibilities of a fateless future, or stay and cultivate the foundation of the next samsara. Whatever's left of the world will recreate fate in the next samsara.

okay one thing I've been wondering after simulanka is if every "golden glowing power of friendship" moment is actually the traveler changing fate. like when we defeated osial- that scene is really similar to what happened with mini durin!

i know a lot of people have mixed thoughts/emotions about this event, but i genuinely think it's one of the most interesting events we've had so far, there's a lot of lore hidden between the lines, nooks, and crannies.

yeah I'm still disagreeing with the Traveler's role. Because Alice took the time to insert us to actively participate in how the story unfolds.
So the Traveler is a "witness" in context of the narrative M wrote, but in context of the narrative of the whole Simulanka main quest plot, I disagree if we call them just a "Witness".

Simulanka is a story about a story inside a story, after all.
