George & Mildred - S02E02: All Around the Clock (1977)

Yootha Joyce was quite simply a delight, sheer class. She had comic timing, powerful charisma and feminine elegance in abundance.

Very sad she died so young 3 days past her 53rd birthday. Her co-star and friend Brian Murphy was at her hospital bedside when she passed, they had a great connection on and off screen. I'm glad to say Mr Murphy is still with us @ December 8th 2023, aged 91.

What a beautiful legacy of laughter the late Yootha has left behind. Watching these (very kindly uploaded) episodes again 45 years after they debuted, I'm impressed at how skilfully they were crafted by the writers, actors, and everyone involved in their production.

To be honest, as a child they weren't highly regarded in my family home - but I now see how unfairly we misjudged them. 'George and Mildred' has held up well over the decades, and passed the ultimate test of all art - Time.

When I think now, I was only 12 years old living in France, now 57 living in UK 4 about 27years.. only heard of this sitcom in 2020/COVID TIME, which lift my spirit in a very hard time, so A Big thank you to them, god Bless and the kind uploader💯💌

As an American, this show is the equivalent to the show we had called The Ropers which was a spin off of Three's Company. Honestly I like this show better than the American version. They're both good and very funny, but for some reason I like this one more. I've always wanted to go to England and for some reason feel like I would be happier living there than I do in America. Maybe in my next life I'll be able to live in England!!!!

I always thought yootha Joyce was a very attractive woman. I feel so sorry for Mildred being stuck with George 😂
