The Gaggia Classic Pro is an espresso machine with a long history of providing great value for money in the world of espresso machines.

In this video, I showed the workflow of how to make double shot espresso at home using Gaggia Classicic Pro.

How many ml or fl oz of single shot espresso varies regionally. However, it generally ranges from 0.75 fl oz (22.5 ml) to 1.25 fl oz (37.5 ml). At Starbucks, single shot espresso is 0.75 fl oz (22.5 ml), double shot espresso is 1.5 fl oz (45 ml).

I took the coffee to yield ratio as 1:3 in the recipe in this video. When it comes to espresso, this ratio varies from 1:1.5 to 1:3.

I grinded 15 grams of freshly roasted coffee beans with 8 clicks on the comandante c40.

I took the double shot espresso as 1.5 fl oz (45 ml), taking the single shot espresso as 0.75 fl oz (22.5 ml) as in the Starbucs.

I also sprayed water on the coffee beans before grinding them. This is to prevent static electricity. Thus, the ground coffee will not stick to the grinder.

Question, to do one shot versus two is it just the difference of turning it off based on the weight?

Do you recommend the Commandante for espresso? I thought it was only good for pour-overs since you can’t adjust the clicks with smaller increments.

I just started using fresh beans and grinding for espresso myself. Most videos i see they use a 1:2 ratio, eg 14g in 28g out, but when i do that i get no where near a double shot. I couldnt see your scale correctly but looks like u put 15g in and got around 40g out. Do u have any advice on getting the correct ratio to use for a double shot pls?
