"Perhaps Revan never fell. The difference between a fall and a sacrifice is sometimes difficult, but I feel that Revan understood that difference, more than anyone knew. The galaxy would have fallen if Revan had not gone to war." - Kreia/Darth Traya.

I've always liked Kreia's interpretation & explanation for Revan's "fall, " and it's how I choose to think of it. Revan never truly "fell, " in the sense that he was seduced by the dark side, Revan ALLOWED himself to fall in order to either strengthen the Republic or replace it with something stronger, either way, the purpose was to prepare the galaxy for the threat (the Eternal Emperor) that existed in the unknown regions. Revan even deliberately limited his time on the Star Forge in order to control its dark side influence on him, so that he would never fully lose control & fall, as Malak did. Just because he wasn't a traditional Jedi in the end, and certainly wasn't a Champion of the light, doesn't mean he fell into darkness. He found true balance in the force and every action he took, even sacrificing himself by allowing himself to "fall, " was to protect & prepare the galaxy from the imminent threat posed by the Emperor. It's safe to say that Revan's actions, even his war against the Jedi & Republic, along with his confrontation of the Emperor, postponed the Emperor's plans of invasion for centuries and safeguarded the Republic. Jedi who fall to the dark side, in the traditional sense, are seduced and corrupted by it and it ultimately becomes their master. Revan knew the dangers and was strong enough to fall, while never actually truly succumbing to the dark side as well as remaining detached, & strong, enough to always keep his own agenda, that being the protection of the galaxy, as his motivating force. It's like Malak said, Revan was never a true Sith, he was no longer a Jedi, he became something more than either sect and represented genuine balance within the force. Even when he was playing the villain, he was really the hero.

3:53, what is that room? It looks like the carbon freezing chamber from Episode 5, just with a weird thing in
The middle!

Sith Emperor? *laughs* What Sith Emperor? *Continues to vigorously deny the existence of the novel and Revan's part in SWtOR*

When Obi-Wan told Anakin being a Padawan was hard, he wasn't kidding.

"And there is something that council may never understand. That perhaps Revan never fell. The difference a between a fall and a sacrifice is sometimes difficult, but I believe Revan understood that difference more than anyone knew. The galaxy would have fallen if Revan had not gone to war. Perhaps he became the dark lord out of necessity, to prevent a greater evil. I do not believe the Jedi council changed Revan as they claimed, they merely stripped away the surface and allowed the true self to emerge once again, someone who was willing to wage war to save others." - Kreia

The missing piece of this puzzle is that Revan was greatly influenced by his old master Aren Kai, Who followed some dangerous philosophies.

1:54 If you think about it, the riddles have to do with the planets the Rakata placed star maps on: Desert is Tatooine, arboreal is Kashyyyk, grassland is Dantooine, volcanic is Korriban, and Oceanic is Manaan.

It maybe just my opinion, but I think Darth Revan is the best Sith Lord ever! :)

I prefer to think that Revan and Malak became siths by choice instead of obliged by the Sith Emperor

Wish these videos where you play through and explain lore were just a little longer. I always like hearing the lore but I also like hearing about the game. This one in particular really felt like "So we got a vision, " and that was the entirety of the game part (as opposed to lore part). I know making videos is a lot of work, and Im not trying to throw more work at you. I just kinda want to give you my opinion as a viewer. I kinda ended the video with a "thats it?" feeling : /

That said this is great lore on Revan and Malak. I haven't been able to play through like I want, but I know the general story of the KOTOR games. Watching these videos really helps me understand the story a lot better.

Can you do a video on basically what the galactic republic is, the rebellion, the empire, and all the groups

I personally always disliked the whole... Vitiate thing anyway.

I felt like it was cheap, and I like the idea of him willingly going to the Dark Side COMPLETELY of his own volition and coming back better than whatever SWTOR tried to pull. I kind of hope he becomes canon and SWTOR doesn't just because it would restore that to his character.

I do kind of disagree that Revan's original intentions weren't noble. I think a lot of factors pushed him into becoming less noble (the comics make it pretty clear that Malak's torture kind of flipped the switch in Malak AT LEAST from "we want to help the Republic" to "we want to decimate the Mandalorians), but his original intentions were pure and motivated by a desire to help the people of the Galaxy.

As with all things, I think his obsession with finding ways to stop the Mandalorians is what drove him progressively farther toward the Dark Side as the war went on and he slipped farther and farther down the slope toward Sithdom. It was my personal impression after reading the comic that it was gradual.

But as always, from a lore standpoint this video is great. Thank you for doing this lore play! I've learned a lot of things and it will help when I'm editing my novelization.

I always thought that the player character was rushed through training because they already knew most of it. He/she just had to remember.

Man, I love KOTOR. I own it on Steam but can't get it to work on Windows 10. Great video, keep up the good work.

That's one thing I miss from legends... The jedi had a historical reason to get totally envolved with the clone wars: last time they did not their order split, the war got worst and the period was known as a Jedi Civil War, which led meny jedi to the dark side. By becoming generals without hesitation they were hoping to control this kind of issue, even though they lost their way, as Yoda said, they were trying to be better then their past.
