This album got me thru my 8 year prison term. I would play it every day followed by tsol dance with me and suicidal tendencies first album. It just lifted my mood and had me doing push ups like a maniac! Such an underrated band

One of the greatest American punk albums and nearly 40 years old yet still very relevant.

Saw these guys on a dream bill with The Zero Boys, Minor Threat and the DK's at Alpine Village, Torrance CA July 3, circa '82.

Mind you this was back in the early eighties, when if you had dyed hair and a leather jacket you were a target for beer bottles thrown from cars while you were walking down the sidewalk. You had to learn to dodge quickly.

Things randomly recalled: summer '83
saw MDC with a host of other punk bands @ the mall in DC with punks from high school. When MDC took the stage we were suddenly surrounded by mounted cops in riot gear. Of course a riot broke out. THEY started it. My friend Derek who sang for our band Suburban Disruptors got hit in the head with a beer bottle and bled all over the place, so we ended our participation to take him home. Safety first!

Unbelievable album! This should be required listening for anybody that has any inclination to question authority in any way. The recent turn of events in the US has really made this album seem prophetic in many ways. The Reagan Era produced this album and the Trump Era breathes life into it again.

Every since I found by chance this album during the hardcore rise to power, every day, I mean it every day I hear certain lines that repeat back to me all day. I swear if you locked me in a room for ten years hearing nothing but mdc's first lp I would come out totally ready to go at it all. I have played guitar all my life but that is nothing to do with how this first lp affects me. Just so fast and correct. It just hits a fuckin correct nerve in my gut and pumps up my heart and that's it. They are the best for me. Ever.

It's amazing this music was even made in the first place, and makes sense in 2018 as well. HARDCORE PUNK LIVES.
THANKS DAVE!
