Elgar - Salut d'Amour (piano solo)

Sir Edward Elgar (1857 – 1934) was an English composer. Although Elgar is often regarded as a typically English composer, most of his musical influences were not from England but from continental Europe.

The piano solo transcription of Elgar's famous "Love's Greeting" by August Fraemcke. I prefer it in a slower, more tenderly flowing tempo.

I am a musicologist, piano teacher and classical singing teacher. I am stunned by your work. You play as if this well known piece is a spontaneous improvisaion: it sounds fresh, new, every note has value. Listening to this is like following the thought process of your soul. You are fantastic. Have a wonderful day.

wow, this is so beautiful. I think the tempo you chose, and the tenderness of your approach gives the feeling of a more mature love. I played a duet of this with my husband (flute, viola) and this tempo would not have sounded good for us but it really works for piano. Thank you for sharing your gifts.

Came here 'coz of Vyn Richter from Tears of Themis. His love for this piece bought me here and it is the most delightful and delicate cover I've ever heard!

Love the way you play it slow in the beginning and suddenly part B with the accelerated tempo then back to the slow tempo. You play it so expressively!

Very amazing and touching. You are one of these pianist, who don't play songs to look impressive, you play them with self expression and a way to communicate your emotions. You have a new subscriber :) Thank again for posting this beautiful piece.

I'm trying to find a tempo like this performance on Spotify for a playlist, but it doesn't exist. My only bad thing to say is that this isn't on Spotify. It comforted me during the first few weeks of COVID-19 in the States and has stuck with me as a comforting song. Thank you.

I was introduced to this piece from my son’s music class (Yamaha JMC) when he was 4 years old. Such a lovely, lovely song.

I've always loved this song by Elgar and you do it great justice with your singing melodic line and well balanced accompaniment. You have a great feeling for this kind of music and it clearly shows in the way you play it. Well done. Very enjoyable indeed. Can't stop listening and watching..

💔When I was in love, I listened to beautiful music every free minute and I never stopped liking it. It was just an indescribable delight. Love has passed, I turn it on again, but I no longer feel anything, I do not experience the emotions and impressions that it made on me. I loved that man very much, but he considered me a little girl incapable of true love and physical intimacy.
