Been studying these dudes on repeat for a few hours now. The secret sauce is:
>Bass player without neck
>Rhythm guitarist without wrist
>Drummer without drum kit
>2nd guitarist acting like nothing is happening.

And. Guitars on stands. Seems important.

I will tell my band this on our next jam session. Perhaps it will funk

I'm a drummer, and I get really jealous when I see/hear another drummer that can get so funky and cool with just a kick, snare, and hi-hats. That dude is killer.

When Joe's head bobs forward he's actually moving closer to the drums so he hears them sooner, allowing his brain to process the signal faster and keep perfect time when playing.

That Joe Dart groove is illegal in at least 8 countries

Nate's drumming is so earth-shaking that they not only had to put concrete bricks against the bass drum, they had to put all the guitars on stands to keep the guys from falling over! Joe is barely hanging on. Damn those final 30 seconds!

In years to come, Joe's gonna have to support his neck with a Fender Brace.

Nate Smith. One of the best things going for music today.

Nate Smith is unbelievable on the sticks.... Hands down I've never seen a band so good

What Nate Smith does in the outro/breakdown at 1:55 should be illegal. That's weapons-grade funk.

I love that synth glissando up in the last part, when Nate is doing his solo. It's so subtle, but really crates a lot of tension!

If this is an introduction I don't wanna know what a goodbye sounds like

Those bird like neck movements so perfectly captures the groove. As for the dope drumming, man he filled every space in the song, he was just all over it.

Jack Stratton has his genius finger on a pulse that no one else has even begun to comprehend

How in the world are these sunglasses still on his head?!

That's the BEST 2 mic drum sound I've heard in a long time! No dampening on the snare. No ring-- so dry?! Tiny little kick drum with a pillow between the mic and the drum?? That's a snare with a K right there.

See, when you're playing music live and creating things, a player can strive for many aspects...expression, dimension, perfection, energy, the selfless, soul...

What we have here is all of it. In abundance.
