This could very well have happened at the same time as the Bronze Age collapse, it has definitely been suggested the vedic texts were oral transmissions well before they were written. Graham Hancock's book Underworld is a great compendium of the early finds off the shores of western India, and the book itself is very rarely mentioned by anyone discussing Hancock, as well as rarely discussed by even himself.

Bro, look at the ruins of a Roman PORT that are 90 METERS beneath Notre Dame. A port means unequivocally that sea level back in the day was WAY WAY lower.
You'll see the same thing under cathedrals around Europe. Off the top of my head, they found similar ruins at a similar depth under a cathedral in Sofia, Bulgaria, and I believe Exeter Cathedral in England.
