Holley EGT

Our buddy John is well on the way to having one of the top dogs in the small block boost arena this year. He is making the switch from Big Stuff EFI to Holley and also going from Q16 to methanol. Today, Bryan is installing the Holley efi and I show ya'll the Holley EGT setup.

You know what I thought was "outstanding, " last year. When Turbo John was a-1/2-a car length, literally at Bobby Parks door handle going across the finish line at the Christmas 'dig- or-die, ' for $35K. Parks, of course, went on to win the money, and how he was able to lift the front wheels multiple times throughout that race, was extraordinary.
My point is, you give him the EGT system, and all those 'fast' guys, just got faster, with them tuning each hole and knowing what to do, lean or rich. It will be abundantly obvious on the track. Can't wait.

Little tip, only mentioning it because I didnt see it mentioned. When setting those up the depth into the header matching is really important. If one is set in the middle and another closer to the edge the temp will always be way off. So we mark the first one after we set it and mark all the others at the same point to ensure they are all in the same spot. Good luck and have fun.

My shit just froze and blew a freeze plug after being ready to roll for months so out it will come to be torn down and checked. So another fun pointer, drain your block of water at the end of every season, because you never know when itll decide to go -20 below and lose power. Keep up the good fight.

Carolina nt sbb 2450lbs up to 98mm, 2650lbs with large turbo, it was going to be 2750-2800 so I’m glad they brought that down. We are going to be around 2550lbs with steel doors, glass, and partial interior😁

I think 98 at 2450
Is going to be plenty capable of running good ET, and the guys with 118 and bigger are going to be crushing mph

John, I have a sbc drag car, I have digital volt meter with temperature reading and one temperature probe with a hose clamp . Which cylinder should I install it in, how far from cylinder head port and what max temperature should I be looking for so I can adjust with carb jets .digital reader goes up to 2000 degrees.

Is that the welder you use for welding aluminum too? Those welds looked good and magically an ad came up for one on FB for 50% off and im thinking about buying one since it will be $450 shipped. Let me know your thoughts, i like the simplicity of the set up of pre and post flow too and if it lasts 4-5yrs i will have learned how to weld good enough on aluminum to buy a better one, where did you get the torch trigger at because i can see a foot feed problematic laid upside down in a car welding a cage lol
