A (Very) Brief Introduction to the Science of COVID-19 Vaccines

Emma Chaput, associate professor of human biology and science faculty member at Central Oregon Community College (COCC) offers a ten-minute introduction to the science, safety, and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccines currently in use in the United States as of February 2021. Professor Chaput explores how vaccines work in general, how the Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines work, vaccine testing (safety and efficacy), balance of risks, and conversations about vaccine hesitancy.
