Heartaches - Al Bowlly: Animated Short Film

Animated ‘Heartaches’ sung by Al Bowlly using 8 individual articulated puppets and 16 heads (8 per character). Animated over two 9-hour sessions with a downshooter and multiple painted backgrounds. Mediums used are paper, water colour, and ink. Composited in after effects. I had a great time putting this together, and the song is now eternally stuck in my head! I hope you all like this film as much as I loved creating it.

We’ve come such a long way guys!!!! :> thank you all for watching my animation and liking it so much. I just posted it on YouTube to add to my portfolio and when I checked back I was super surprised and overwhelmed with the amount of attention and kind comments it had gotten! The mice is old living alone having after her wife dying. When she saw the doll he taught he was talking to his wife to keep him sane and calm remembering his time with his wife.
