Miguel is still so underrated imo, everyone who watched the show liked him until he showed his true side, and I mean everyone lol.

Season 8 was objectively bad but is a 5/10 at worst. If the worst rated Dexter episode from season 8 was a 4.7 how does 3/10 overall make sense?

I get that this is his list, but the fact that he has new blood over seasons 3 & 5 is baffling to me. Shit, I think its also baffling how season 6 is over 5.

My ranking:

9. New blood 3/10: worst season by far, felt nothing like Dexter. Felt like I was watching a fan made sequel to Dexter, had none of the humor from the original. Just sucked, especially the ending. Also hated Harrison, only season I consider bad.

8. Season 8 6/10: Honestly I don’t think anything other than new blood is particularly bad. I think it’s just mediocre, they kept switching plot points this season which sucked. Also Hannah McKay pissed me off the most, besides budget gosling.

7. Season 6 6.5/10: Only reason this season is better than season 8 because the episode “Nebraska”, one of the best episodes. Problem with the season was Travis Marshall was not a good villain, and killing brother Sam off early sucked. Also they just abandoned Harrison’s nanny and didn’t bother giving an explanation.

6. Season 3 7/10: Hot take this seasons first half is just as bad as season 8 and 6, it picks up around the second half. But there is not point to the skinner being a villain, and only reason it’s this high is because jimmy smits amazing performance as Miguel and the iconic rooftop scene.

5. Season 5 8/10: Honestly, the most underrated season by far. I loved lumen this season, I felt like the villains were so good because they were so unlikeable and it felt like a good redemption for Dexter. Only issue I had was the scene with Deb firing the gun was stupid, and the random sex scene between dex and lumen is also dumb. Also the Harrison nanny plot points went nowhere so idk what the point of it was. Ignoring all of that though it’s great.

4. Season 7 8.5/10: loved Isaak sirko, wished he lived longer. (I was growing old of the trend in the show, introducing a new character and then having them leave immediately after.) so I hated that they killed him off so soon. I liked the laguerta storyline a lot, and I felt like it was a great storyline, I also hated Hannah McKays character this season though.

3. Season 2 9/10: great season almost perfect, however Lila killing Doakes is was drags it down a point, loved Lundy though and wish we saw more of him, and Lila’s character was great from how unlikeable she was.

2. Season 1 9.5/10: Great season, only issues I had with it was that laguerta flirting with Dexter went nowhere. Also I wished they didn’t kill Brian off so early, I wish they followed a bit more of the books in this season. Otherwise I loved it.

1. Season 4 10/10: John Lithgows performance is one of the best I’ve ever seen. He truly makes me hate trinity, I loved Dexter and Rita’s relationship this season, slowly becoming perfect just for her to tragically die. Honestly couldn’t ask for more from this season, best season of the show.
