We lived in a neighborhood with peacocks, and picked up feathers for the cats. After washing the feathers flat in the bath tub with warm water and Dawn dish soap, we let them dry. Most went into a big vase, which the cats loved pouncing on! We'd take one at the time and play with the cats with it! They LOVED them!! The only downside is the feathers can break and have a sharp edge, which you don't want them chewing. Feathers were their favorite! They also loved tigercolored balls with feathers.

I love this! So many cute ideas! My cats love to play with my phone charger cables, so now I use my old ones and make toys with them.

My office celebrates Pet Appreciation Week (PAW, if you wiil) which is the first week of June, and I show the other employees how to make DIY toys. They make toys for their own fur babies and then some for the shelter I volunteer at. I'll definitely be utilizing some of these ideas. Thank you❤

My cat’s favorite toys were the plastic rings that you take off the caps of milk cartons. As she got older she graduated to an unfolded paperclip. The simpler the toy the more cats love it.

This video was awesome! But PLEASE be careful with the mouse one: he could accidently ingest one of the googly eyes and choke, or the eye could get stuck in his digestive track and cause an infection.

I say this because it happened to many cats with a similar store bought toy that had googly eyes on it. (That worm looking cat toy with tiny eyes. They sell them at Walmart and I think Petsmart too.)
