A Tale Of Two ZX Spectrum Flight Sims

With all my flying around in the Lightning Simulator, many of you drew comparisons to Psion Flight Simulation. So let's look at them back to back.

First up is an approach and landing in the 'light aircraft styled' Psion; then a similar approach and landing in the RAF's Mach 2+ interceptor.

Hi. Of the two, I had the first one. I spent thousands of hours on my Flight Simulator back in the early 80s, using the Timex Sinclair TS-2068, a cassette and later I had the cartridge! I never knew about the second one.

I remember I was a kid, so excited when I got this game. The cassette with the image promised so much....

Then I loaded it, and saw a blue 3rd (sky) a green 3rd (ground) and a gauge cluster....
I was heart-broken completely.

I was staring at the sunset on the cassette and realised that marketing people were evil and I purchased a lie.


But I kept playing it, until I discovered Tomahawk. Oh, those transparent pyramid mountains were the real thing back then.

I was reading up on the Electric Lightning. Apparently it was an interceptor to stop nuclear armed Soviet bombers!
