Market in the French Pyrénées - Cauterets Village

Join me on a tour of one of my favorite places on earth.

Cauterets is a very small village in the mountain that gets crowded during the high season!

Latest census says 1156 inhabitants. It goes up to 20.000 - 30.000 during the holidays.

Ski is popular during the winter and trekking, canoeing as well as other mountain activities can be enjoyed during the summer.

The food and local products are delicious too!

It's funny how the village stores are quaint with huge iron gates in front. It was necessary at one time but they add charm now. On the whole its a tourst village but has kept its charm despite catering to visitors.
