Let’s be honest here. Much of the problems here in schools are self inflicted. They got soft on letting kids get away with bad behavior in classes and on busses. They advanced kids that were behind, that should have been held back. They lowered the standards of learning- lowered the bar. They can’t fire bad teachers because of how the system is setup. They became woke and don’t stick to curriculum. The lost our respect as parents in their ability to actually teach the curriculum and not inject so much of their personal and political opinions into the classrooms. They fire the good teachers with the most experience because they would not get the fake shot. Zoom revealed how much crap was going on and what was actually being taught to our students and young children. Plus…. I can’t tell you how many times my kids came home and said they watched a Disney movie in class… so no actual class work got done and now I’m doing the teachers job after a full day of work when we could be enjoying family time… no wonder we saving our children and switching over to home schooling. These institutions stopped caring about the children a long time ago. And now their grooming the kids with teachers that don’t know what gender they are. It’s infuriating. Clean up the system and get back to actually teaching. Get a backbone and get back to proper discipline. And fire bad teachers.

perhaps there wouldn't be a "teacher shortage" if we hadn't fired the folks for not taking the jab.

They all stayed silent while woke culture was being rolled out in the schools. Just a fact that needs to be addressed.

It’s good to see that teachers are standing up for themselves and leaving this toxic and abusive profession.

My sister in law is a teacher, and she’s been through a lot. They get no support from the school director, the teachers get blame for everything, they have to deal with special needs and regular kids same classroom! which takes quality education and time from the regular kids. A kid who bit up a teacher sending her to a hospital was transfer to her previous elementary school in Houston and the fist day of class this kid hurt other teachers sending one of them to the hospital from her injuries. Teachers were threaten to stay quiet about it. My in-law transfer to another school because couldn’t take it anymore.
teacher have to buy their own lawyer insurance but many can’t afford it.
School is now a daycare not an Education Institute!
I’m very disappointed of our education system and the so call parents excusing their kids bad behaviors!

Throughout 23 years in the classroom, I saw a lowering of standards and expectations. Then 2+years of mandated lockdowns have only made it worse. Teaching basics and "old school" standards is what is needed. Woke policies taught in university trickles down to primary teachers. And parents are tired of it. My suggestion to parents, take control of school boards or take your kids out. They are your kids.

Where were the teachers when kids were being groomed to sexualization at an early age? Where were the teachers when CRT was being injected in the curriculum? Many kept silent, others were complicit and some were just thrilled about it.

About time people took responsibility for the education of their kids anyway, not depending on government institutions to indoctrinate them.

The education system is and has been majorly flawed since I was a child.

I grew up in Mexico and came here when I started 7th grade and I was in shock when I saw how bad the students behaved. I then became a teacher and have now quit because it is not worth my mental health. I worked as an educator for 11 years in some of the worst schools in my district, and instead of things getting better, they just got worse.

The teacher shortage has very little to do with compensation—According to Hart polling 79% of teachers are dissatisfied with the job. They are babysitters and disciplinarians with no admin backup and little parent support. Now its affecting the pool of people going into teaching. No more social pass grades, permanent suspension for any student assaulting a teacher. PS Lawrence—-where are the black teachers on your panel?

Entering into our second year of homeschooling & I’ve found myself under similar pressures these teachers are facing. Catching my child up on lost years of education due to virtue learning. It’s tiresome, it’s taxing, it’s heart wrenching to see how much is ahead of us. But we’re plowing through it & we’re getting it done with God’s grace and peace has been restored in our lives.

I became a teacher in 2017 after retiring from the army. It was a huge culture shock for me, as you could imagine. The number one problem teachers face is student behavior and parents condoning such behavior. Some students are violent, and there isn't much a teacher can do.

The anxiety is putting cell phones in young kids hands. When are you people going to wake up and see that.

Abolish the Department of Education, abolish teachers unions. There are over 650 school districts in Arizona; wasteful.

I left because of the administration. The mask and vax mandate on top of BLM and CRT support was too much for me to take. I miss the kids terribly.

These kids have been through a political attack from their own government that has lasted yrs, it’s horrible the damage that’s been done.

My daughter just started teaching at a private school and she said that everything was so much better. Other teachers there had left public schools because of the chaos at the public level.

I am a 14th year teacher with a masters In curriculum and instruction I do not make $60, 000 a year. I have to clean houses at night to make ends meet. We have severe special needs thrown into the general education classroom with very little support. We keep getting gaslit and lipservice from administration about everything that is happening. We have so many students who don’t speak English and are expected to take the same test as if they are fluent. I have to be the general education teacher, special education teacher, para professional, and English teacher. The amount of administration or busy work we have to do is ridiculous. We have zero say in the curriculum we teach even though we have more years of experience than the people purchasing it. It’s sad where it is heading. Something has to give especially with the security of schools. I do not feel safe at work.

I am a night custodian at the elementary school I work at. I see all that is going on, I see the stress on all of my co workers faces. Our principal retired, he was just done. The kids were terribly out of control, the bullying rampant. I worry about this upcoming school year with all these challenging behaviors and stress levels spiraling out of control. We have a new principal, and he looks like he is already stressed out. I vouch for the new principal in getting at least an assistant principal, but due to numbers, and whatever technicality, he will not be getting the extra support. I just told him and the teachers, look, we have each other, we will get through this and manage the best we possibly can. They all know that if they need to talk, they have me and I have them. I always let the students know that they can come to me and talk to me whenever they feel overwhelmed too. Everyone needs to support each other in these highly stressful times, it is detrimental.
A little kindness and moral boosting goes a long way. Support each other, love each other, treat each other with kindness and respect. Listen to each other and help to solve problems with each other, don't ever be afraid to ask for HELP!
