I think that people are confused by this. When he says that you don't have the option to deny it, I think he's referring to proven, tested scientific fact, not hypotheses. I'm all for scepticism on unsure subjects, but acting as though proven fact is false is just absurd, especially during important political conversation.

It's the peer review that makes it a successful way of looking at the world. Sometimes a really smart person who speaks eloquently can sway people to do stupid things because no one checks if what they're saying is true. That's where we are now.
