Muscle and Fat Density - Simple Truth Fitness Minute

You might have heard the phrase "Muscle weighs more than fat." But does it? I'll straighten this myth out in today's Simple Truth Fitness minute.
💪
This reminds me of the old gotcha question of which weighs more a pound of feathers or a pound of gold. Some are inclined to say feathers but the reality is they are equal because a pound is a pound, regardless of what you're measuring.

Some other fun facts:
1️⃣) Two people may be the same height and weight, but the person with a substantially higher body fat percentage will wear a larger clothing size.
2️⃣) Muscle tissue will burn 4 to 8 calories daily per pound, while fat burns 2 to 3 calories daily per pound.
3️⃣)A just-started-training man MIGHT add 1-2 pounds of muscle a month, most will add far less. A woman might, MIGHT, add half that.
😱
Whether man or woman, if weight loss is the goal and the scale isn't dropping? It's not because of ALL the muscle you've added.

I hear women say that they don't want to lift weights because they don't want to be bulky.
