Why we need to take angina seriously | Elsa Steo's story

Distinguishing angina from other types of chest pain can be difficult. Elsa Steo almost dismissed her symptoms as stress, menopause or just life. Thanks to supportive friends and a doctor who took her concerns seriously Elsa’s angina diagnosis was not missed.

Today, Elsa is a Women Heart champion, encouraging others not to dismiss their symptoms and take angina seriously: “Don’t be afraid to go to your doctor, or even the hospital, and when you do, make sure you get fully tested.”

#UseHeart to #ActNowOnAngina.

I am so glad that I came across this today. I have a appointment with my Dr tomorrow morning and will definitely speak to him about my family history and get myself checked out. I just buried my only sibling yesterday at age 65. He was diagnosed 12 years ago. My father died of a heart attack at age 64 and my mom of angina at age 70. Thank you

Sense of urgency and genetics. Sound advice. My dad started to have angina symptoms at age 53. I’m now 53 and starting to have angina symptoms.

I am having burning sensation in left shoulder left edge of stomach left leg and little swelling on left leg. Pain is not in center of chest. No other symptom. Can it be angina
