CWC meeting: Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi opts out of selection process for new president

Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s resignation is under consideration, party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala told the media today. He was addressing the media after a brief meeting of the Congress Working Committee- the highest decision making body of the party.Surjewala said that India needs a strong opposition and the party feels Rahul Gandhi is fit to lead the opposition front. He also thanked Congress workers across the country for standing by the party. However, Surjewala said that Rahul’s decision is final on resignation.
