Jack Kornfield – Ep. 26 – When Love Meets Sorrow:

================
“When Love meets sorrow it becomes compassion”

As we become silent we start to awaken to the mystery of this human realm. We begin to open to and acknowledge all of the unfinished business that often permeates our being. Through practice, we can learn to offer love in the presence of pain. In these moments of loving-kindness we feel a connection to the web of life, and discover the more objective nature of our struggles and sorrows. As Jack explains, no matter what level you are practicing on, you cannot fully open without compassion. See what happens in your life when love meets sorrow.

Jack is for real. There's a great "After Skool" clip, "Ram Dass: Keeping your heart open in Hell ". When I read 'Nirvana and Samsara are One', I thought, something else, another cryptic saying, that I don't understand. Just give it time, you will. All the hurt and beauty becomes excruciating if you don't stick to the Dharma. Also, the story of the bear at the end..I learned after working at a Zoo for 30 years: don't ever underestimate animals. They changed me and get a lot of credit for me commiting to the Path.

I love your talks Jack as they have given me solace and comfort over the years for my own loss.
I'd like to ask, Where is Aung San Suu Kyi's love, heart and compassion for the Bangladeshi people now? Where is her voice for the injustice that the Myanmar people are doing to the innocent?

Talk about innate common sense wisdom....I remember being struck by what Ram Dass said in one of his talks where he says hes in the business of speaking about the unspeakable. indeed the truth is ineffable yet we must live as the one who knows but does not speak, as well as one who speaks but does not know.
blessings to everyone at the Be Here Now Network and LSR foundation
