Sony a5000 Clean HDMI Hack & Power Off Bypass On Linux

I'm not a fan of artificial software limitations so let's remove the overlay by modifying the cameras firmware using telnet over the built in Wi-Fi. Like a normal person.

I have a question, everytime i plug hdmi to a5000 camera, the camera always goes to gallery, i have to press half shutter to go back to camera

Do you experience this ? Is there any walk around?

All i want is when the dummy powered, camera turn on without have to push anything on the camera

Any idea what the memory address is to permanently disable the smooth skin effect?

I've got an a5100 and it's driving me crazy. The effect is permanently on in video mode. No idea where to even start looking for that.

Hi. I came across this while looking for a solution for pentax k5. Is there any way I can use pentax k5 as webcam? My understanding so far is gphoto2 does not support k5 and chatgpt gave up on finding any other solution for clean hdmi output. I would really appreciate any help. Thanks
