In 2004, then Senate Democrat Leader Tom Daschle of South Dakota was running for reelection.
In a close election decided by 1 point, he lost to then congressman and now Senate Republican leader John Thune.

This is one of two senate elections in US history where a current Senate leader lost to a future Senate leader.

Those of us who are voting Democrats need to understand the voices and values who are in the slim majority of our country citizens. We can expect to see negotiations and compromises on both sides of the aisle frequently in support of economically underserved without prejudice or bias, while supporting those advancing in financial gains. I have an idea, all people in senate and house should take a lie detector test all the time to make sure they are working towards helping Americans and if they are not then they should be ousted from office. Dodge needs to make sure this happens.

Let’s not give the top 1% a tax break and add that money to military pay raise. If you go into the military and have a family you qualify for FOOD stamps.

Senate Majority Leader on paper only, Mitch supported him and will still have major influence behind the scenes. Thune is a 20 year "Old Guard' member. He says he will let Trump know what is "realistic" remember Paul Ryan, Pres Trump will learn how Congress works. Thune will be of no help
