I'm 30 years old and I remember I told myself when I was turning 18 to sign up for cosmetology... Sadly I let time slip me by due to mental health issues. But now I'm out of the dark fog and I'm like shit am I too old to go to cosmetology school? It's still a dream of mine for sure... But I do love the creativity and satisfaction of seeing the client happy after their services.

As a cosmetologist and an instructor thank you for this. I’m an instructor who teaches alot of book work and on the first day o school I do mention we gotta learn to crawl before we can stand before we can walk so that you can run out in the world

I’m an educator. I think going to the school and getting services done from current students is a GREAT way to interview a school as a GUEST. You will interact with students and staff and you can see how they teach and how their results are. Plus students love to talk about how they love/hate it. You can get a real feel for the vibe of a place this way

As a former art student before going into the field color theory was one of the first things we learned. Especially for photography!

I think being a jack of all trades is a good thing to do because it opens up more opportunities for you in the future. So many doors will open for you.

I’m so glad I found this video. I remember watching it when it came out but watching it again really just helps me because I too don’t want to stick to one thing. I want to do hair and nails so I’m glad I heard from someone else they did the same thing!! Thanks girl!!

I toured a couple before making my choice. The one i chose gives a lot of one on one teaching to individual students and is hands on right from the get go. Instead of only doing stuff in the textbook before going hands on, this school you start hands on while the teacher shows you what to do while explaining why they are doing what they are doing and then having you do it after they do it and giving you pointers as you’ve do it.

This is so true! cosmetology field is cut throat so expect the teachers to be as well.

Thank you, would love to see more videos about how you market yourself, stay organized, run your business etc. Also about different ways you made money with your cosmetology degree: did you ever do hair, facials, waxing, lashes etc? And what are other directions that are profitable
