1. separate slabs

2. divide finishes on one slab
(create parts/divide parts/show parts/change material/view range unlimited)

Thank for this interested video, please can you tell me the difference between using both "Split Face" and "Paint" commands and the ways shown here to confirm YES or NO that the previous commands don't lead to change material of finished layer in floor, i.e to act as HATCH only?

Hi B.A
One problem with the part is join floor and wall in section. My why is to create main floor to all area and after creat specific floor the small area and use join between the floors.

You can also model de finish floor on top of the existing one, and then, use the cut tool to remove the overlapping geometry

I have been using Revit off and on since 2014 and never once noticed the Create Parts icon in the Create section of the Ribbon.

hi BA
i think it would be useful to make a vídeo on walls too.
sometimes we want we want to apply diferente materials to walls (tile or paint) after building walls, especially when we export to rendering programs like twinmotion it becomes quite complex because you cannot apply diferente materials to the same Wall.

thanks

10:59 When I selected my floor, why I cannot 'create divide'? It shows up in grey colour.

I found the results of the Divide parts tool doesn't work properly in Revit 2023. It keeps the original floor layer overlaping your new split up ones. Until AutoDesk fix this, I cannot use this approach at the moment. 😕
