A total fire ban has been declared for Sydney, the Blue Mountains, the Central Coast, and South Coast.

The city is forecast to reach 33 degrees on Tuesday.

The mercury in Penrith is predicted to reach 35 degrees – 13 degrees above the September average.

More than 20 schools across the South Coast have closed due to today’s heat.

That was Pete’s serious voice, usually reserved for hard hitting stories involving loss of life.
Best keep the kids home today everyone, looks like it’s going to be sunny.

Changing the fire ratings in NSW
Green used to be Low.
Blue was Moderate
Yellow was High
