CONTROVERSIAL NEST BOX
This is Gylfie's second brood this year and her choice of owl box has been of concern since this is Beech Stump, where the tawny owls usually lay. At this time of year this species usually begin staking their claim on next year's sites and there could be a scuffle!

FINN KEEPS GUARD

SECOND BROOD
This is Gylfie's second clutch of eggs. Her first chicks, Nutmeg & Thyme, were laid in my Elm Stump box and only recently fledged the nest.

NEW CLUTCH
Barn owls normally lay their eggs every 2-3 days and so Gylfie was right on cue when she laid the 3rd egg of her 2nd brood on Saturday, three days after laying her 2nd.
