I’ve had one for years, and I don’t make mine like that. I use very chilled water to the line, pop it in the machine and give it 4 or 5 blasts on the big top button (there is only one button) release it from the machine, add the syrup, but don’t shake it! Turn the bottle three times top to bottom. Open gently, add a shart load of ice, pour and there you go, coke!

A little extra tip don’t press the button all the way down the water will splash everywhere

You've gotta really be into it. I just did the math. It's about $.54 a can buying by the case for regular Coke or Pepsi. SodaStream works out to about $.65-70 a can when factoring in flavoring, Co2 cannisters and the initial purchase amortized, factoring in eventual replacement. So, you're paying for the privilege of the hassle which means you better really enjoy the hassle.

Looks flat truthfully. I was expecting to see at least some foam rise when opening the cap. Not sure I want to buy this now. Just being honest.

My SodaStream is the best thing that ever happened to me. Thanks to the Mountain Dew drink mix I can have Mountain Dew at home for cheap(I regularly make one liter bottles of Mountain Dew at home) and it's just as good as the canned and bottled stuff. Half the carbs, sodium and calories too which is a bonus.

Please explain what is the difference between original cola sold in the shop and this one? What is the point to buy this sodastream and waste time to prepare the same drink?

You don't need to twist the bottle. It clicks into place - you can feel and hear it. If it doesn't seat properly you will have water everywhere. I use 3 one second squirts of the CO2 which is fine for me. Also the instructions say to never put the syrup in first - you can destroy the mechanism. Don't know if that's true but not going to take the chance, so never put it back in after the syrup goes in to get more fizz.
