Ev Cochrane: The Eye of Zeus | Space News

Comparative mythologist Ev Cochrane, author of "Martian Metamorphoses", continues his lifelong research into the themes and archetypes of world mythology with this deconstruction of Zeus.

“And he (Zeus) was reigning in Heaven, himself holding lightning and shining thunderbolt.”
Ev describes how the model developed by David Talbott and himself differs from previous schools of myth. The modern science of comparative mythology has its wellsprings in the mid-18th century when William Jones demonstrated that the name of the Greek god Zeus was cognate with that of the Latin Jupiter and Vedic Dyaus. Jaan Puhvel, the author of a leading textbook on comparative mythology, called this finding “one of the greatest discoveries of modern times.”

I am around 5 years into my own personal research into connections between several modern religions, ancient religious sects, mythos and folklore. I watch these videos often. Tonight I made a connection that struck me by surprise. Others may have already made the connection and it may be old info for some, but this video gave me a possible connection to these ideas and some Norse symbolism and runes.

While I agree wholeheartedly in the EU explanation of the cosmos, I fear the common interpretation in purely physical terms overlooks the entirety of the truth. I think the ancients didn't simply worship physical phenomenon, but instead they were aware of the invisible reality these phenomena represent. By seeing only the physical, we are limited to be simpletons, as compared to the ancients...as they saw beneath the veil of the physical. The ancients didn't just worship flashes in the sky...these were the children of those that built the pyramids.

Wait what? I thought the Primeval Sun of the Polar Configuration was Saturn (Cronos), not Jupiter (Zeus). And that Zeu's passage and thunderbolts (from a Saturn electrical exchange) wrecked havock.

The universe is so clearly electric, and magnetic. It vibrates through everything. Even we are controlled by electric impulses. Perhaps this is why the electric guitar has such a power over so many of us, it uses magnetism and electricity and vibration. Our universe is a complex, and beautifully simple place.

Yall the real ones. If it wasn't for yall I would probably never be able to explain that dream I had of a purple starless sky, filled with glowing white plasma symbols, and an avatar-esque like alignment of planets, making it seem like we're the moon of some gas giant that is bafflingly being eclipsed by two other planets. It's wild, with all this psychic phenomena, I'm beginning to wonder if the past and future exist concurrently on some sort of script we live out.
