I think there's another theme that people overlook of Atri.

And that's death.

Atri is a VN that where people think the world is doomed, and if something is meaningless because it's about to end.

Natsuki and Atri's conversation on the island pretty much is about that. With Natsuki asking Atri why he wanted to learn stuff at the school if her life was about to end, and Atri asking Natsuki why he said he loves her if he knew her life was going to end, etc. And the answer to all of that it's because it doesn't matter if it ends, one should be happy that it happened in the first place.

I think people focus a lot on ''robots having feelings'' thing and overlook how this VN touches on death.

This was the first visual novel I read. The pacing at the start is a bit predictable, but perfect for when you get hit by a gurwrenching blow midway that makes you question that what you took for granted, finalizing in a mature and tragic end. A perfect masterpiece.
