No kidding, I learned more from this lesson than I have in 1033 days in a row of Duo Lingo! Learning the why instead of purely trying to memorize has flipped a switch for me! Thank you and keep up the great videos!

You should be very proud of what you’ve created here. I’m sure our brains are all wired differently and receive information differently but this is the single-most effective instruction to Spanish learning I’ve ever seen. Really excited to dive into more.

Despite having a number of years of Spanish I picked up on a few tidbits. The bigger picture you present is to look for commonalities and patterns. I love learning Spanish because for me it's like a puzzle. I enjoy the challenge of figuring out how the sentence fits together in context. I believe there is a certain amount of memorizing and learning proper grammar required (typical language teachers focus on this aspect). I've never been taught Spanish by a native english speaker. The fact that you have on the ground experience is a huge benefit. Thanks for your efforts.

First I have to say you are doing a great job to help English speakers to learn Spanish, sometimes it is an advantage to come from own experience as a learner than from university with an academic approach to teach people.

At the age of 65 I started to learn Spanish just for fun. One of the first things I discovered were the many similarities between English and Spanish. Even for a German native, it makes absolute sense to learn Spanish from English instead of learning from German. Only when it comes to pronunciation it is an advantage to be a German native speaker, we use a lot of similar sounds like the Spanish and even the pronunciation rules are often similar, even when the writings are different.
Beside the similarities for the endings .. al and the change from ..tion to ..ción I discovered another one, the change form ..ty to ..dad for many words like society->sociedad, university->universidad and another good thing is, the ..dad endings like the ..ción endings are always female, "La conversación en la universidad era muy formal."

Having “studied” Spanish off and on since I was in third grade, ( a hundred years ago, lol ), your lessons have taught me more than 360 days straight of Duolingo and as I’m getting ready for my 3rd trip to Ecuador soon, there are proving to be priceless…also, as a former Deputy Sheriff myself, Thankyou also for your service!

I am so excited I have learned so much in such a short time. Today is the first day I cdd as me across your videos and I love them I studied Spanish I. College and on my own but I keep getting stuck on the understanding of the grammar and you made it so plain and simple I truly understand now. I believe following you will help me reach my goal. It is my desire to speak Spanish fluently because I love the language and I just love connecting with others in their own language. I can and love to sing in Spanish but I also want to hold a lengthy conversation as well. I think I can do it with. Thank you so much for sharing your gift. You we’re my blessing today
