This is West Coast Swing, a fully improvised dance. For this competition, our partners were chosen randomly. Jen and I had never met before. For our song choice, we were given the choice of “original or cover,” but had no idea which song it would be.

Keerigan… you said in another video that the swing dance is communication and that it’s also acting in another video. I can see what you mean when I watched this video again…the playfulness in your expressions… the teasing…how you become the person in the songs story. I love these little tidbits you drop.

So I have another question for a future tutorial video… what makes west coast swing unique? Is it the twirling or something else? How would someone like me know when I’m watching west coast swing compared to a different swing?
