Having lived here all my life, this isn't even the worst Santa Ana wind event I've experienced. Usually, the Santa Anas are accompanied by excessive heat plus dryness and can happen at any time of year. The preparation for this event was totally inadequate; there was no Plan B from water availability or evacuations.
