*Multitasking is one of the biggest illusions in modern culture.*
Focus on one thing at a time, if you want to become good at it. Full dedication, without any distractions. Better to be a master of one area, than mediocre in several different ones.

On multitasking: I can both go to work and have an overwhelming sense of hopelessness about my career choices at the same time.

I guess one of those is automatic too???

I agree but disagree with the long term memory part. I actually do have a good long term memory, and can remember very specific parts. For example, my great-great grandfather always mixed Cheerios and Rice Krispies. Just something I remember. Considering he passed away when I was around 5 (and I remember that as well), my memory of him was from probably around 4 (that's 32 years ago). I remember being at my grandmother's when I was 3, playing with a toy Santa (and my grandmother sent the photo to me, which says I was 3). There are other examples, but I can remember long term events without distorting them. Some of them, perhaps are distorted. But family can confirm what happened as I can be specific on certain events.
