Preußens Gloria [German march]

"Preußens Gloria" ("The Glory of Prussia" or "Prussia's Glory") was written in 1871 after the Kingdom of Prussia's victory in the Franco-Prussian War, which led to the unification of the German states into the new Prussian-led German Empire. As part of the victory parade of the returning troops, the march was performed for the first time in public in Frankfurt (Oder), where Piefke's garrison was based.

I virtually grew up to "Preussens Gloria". My mum was Prussian-American and my Grandma was Prussian, from Berlin. My mum would play American and German music that Grossemutti especially liked. I remember very happy times, being little and marching round the house to this.After Grossemutti passed, my mum would play it because I liked it so much. Das hier ist für dich, Oma!
